Reality parenting

Beth came downstairs saaaaaad tonight after I'd put her to bed. Scott picked her up and hugged her and comforted her...and, over her shoulder, gave me a Look, held out his fist, and proceeded to rock-paper-scissors me to see who had to take her back to bed.

I lost.

I'm saving this story to tell Beth when she's older, some day when she tells me that Daddy is WAY nicer than I am.

That is the best thing I've heard today. I just love your parenting stories, and hope that my life is just as interesting when I have a 3 year old.

Is this the method that comes most recommended from parenting magazines? :) LOL. I love it.

Scott's so cool - we are WAY less discreet at our house.

Ha! That's a good way to decide it. (unless Scott always wins).
We're always taking turns being the mean parent. It's funny what we "make" them do that qualifies us for the doghouse (like eating dinner, picking up something on the floor, etc.) Luckily they get over it quickly still.
